How do remedial massages work?
Pain is caused by trigger points which are tiny contractions of the muscle fibres in a muscle tissue. Trigger points exist when they are over stimulated and unable to release their contracted state. Zoe will locate these knots that lay along a band of muscle fibres.
Commonly they are caused by strains, accidents, falls, muscle over-use and postural stress. They are tender when being pressed upon, however once found they are easily treated.
Stretching techniques are used to help re-align muscle fibres and increase flexibility.
